Since I was a kid I’ve loved thepeace symboland my very first pair of earrings were silver studs with cute little dangling PEACE signs.
When I started to investigate the peace symbol for this art series, I learned that the British designer Gerald Holtom innovated it by using the flag semaphore signal for the letter N and D, as he created it for the British Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in 1958.
